BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has demanded introduction of a bill announcing Lok Sabha seats from PoK and Gilgit. Amidst the entire political row over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mention of Balochistan in his Independence Day speech, he said ““I want government to introduce a bill announcing Lok Sabha seats from PoK and Gilgit,” while talking to the media on Wednesday.
Dubey demanded 5 Lok Sabha and 24 assembly seats in PoK and he had earlier tried introducing the same bill in November 2015 and February 2016 but his proposition was rejected on both the accounts by the Deputy Speaker. He had written letters demanding the same on many accounts in the past.
All these reactions come in the wake of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking a strong stance during the all party meeting where he asserted that PoK was a part of Jammu and Kashmir and asked the participants to “expose Pakistans atrocities in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Balochistan”.
