Manohar Parrikar, four-time Goa chief minister and former Defence Minister, passed away on Sunday evening after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer. He died at his private residence near Panaji on Sunday. He was 63.
On his demise, the country is observing national mourning on March 18, with the National Flag to fly at half-mast across the states and Union Territories. Goa government announced seven days of mourning to be observed throughout the state from March 18 to 24 after the death of chief minister Manohar Parrikar.
