West Bengal: BJP candidate Bharati Ghosh breaks down after being attacked at polling booth

BJP candidate from West Bengal’s Ghatal constituency and former IPS officer, Bharati Ghosh broke down during the sixth phase of polls after she was abused at the polling station. As per reports, she was pushed by a group of women voters at the voting station in Ghatal. Following the incident, she was left in tears.

Not only this, after being heckled at the polling booth, Bharati was also attacked from alleged Trinamool Congress voters. Her convoy was pelted by stones and bricks. It is reported that she has sustained minor injuries during a mob attack.

Amid the ongoing Lok Sabha ELections, Bengal is raged as two BJP workers were reportedly shot last night and another BJP worker was found dead in Jhargram district. The party has blamed TMC for orchestrating the violence.

Also, clashes also broke out at a public meeting which was reportedly addressed by Bharati two days ago. In the violence, at least 15 people were left injured, including TMC and BJP workers.

Bharati is debuting at the elections and is challenging TMC candidate and actor Deepak Adhikary, popularly known as Dev.
