Hacktivist group WikiLeaks has released a new batch of 8,263 emails from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) just days before the US election.
Published on November 6, the emails revealed that CNN allegedly asked DNC for interview questions to pose to Republican rivals Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, reports IBT.
The latest email leak highlighted the collusion between CNN and DNC. In an email titled, ‘Trump Questions for CNN’, the network staff reaches out to the DNC to help anchors Wolf Blitzer and Jake Tapper for interview with Trump.
“Wolf Blitzer is interviewing Trump on Tues ahead of his foreign policy address on Wed. Please send me thoughts by 10:30 AM tomorrow.”
In an April 28 email exchange between DNC research director Lauren Dillon and some other Democrats with a subject line ‘Cruz on CNN, Dillon mentioned that CNN was looking for questions to ask Senator Ted Cruz in an upcoming interview and asked Democrats to send some interesting questions to CNN.
DNC Leak2 also revealed that apart from CNN, DNC provided content to Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank.
The latest email leak pointed that DNC was searching for angles with which to build a narrative of close tie between Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports RT.
Clinton camp has previously blamed Russia for the leaked emails, saying that Russia wants a “puppet” president in the White House and trying to sway the outcome of election in Trump’s favour.
WikiLeaks on Monday faced a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) cyber attack after the release of DNC files.
