On charges of ‘honey trapping’ BJP lawmaker KC Patel, the Delhi Police took a woman into custody for questioning, on Tuesday. The woman, who accused Patel of rape, was arrested from her residence in Indirapuram.
“We have taken the woman, who honey-trapped the BJP MP, into custody for questioning,” a senior police officer said.
The arrest came after Patel alleged that he was drugged and filmed in a compromising state by the woman. The woman later accused him of rape and threatened to upload the video and photo online demanding Rs. 5 crore from him, he added.
Patel claims that he was asked by the woman to accompany her to her apartment in Ghaziabad. Although, the woman has said at the Supreme Court that she first met Patel on March 3. She also said that he raped her several times.
“I have full faith in justice and doodh ka doodh, paani ka paani ho jayega (we will know the truth),” the BJP lawmaker said, to news agency ANI.
Notably, on Monday, the police said that the woman heads a gang that specializes in honey-trapping high-profile people, especially lawmakers, after approaching them for help. She had also filed a rape case against a lawmaker in similar circumstances in the previous year, said the police.
