In the Kandhamal district’s Kereda village, a group of young people are accused of sexually assaulting a woman because of past animosity.
The issue reportedly came to light after the survivor complained to the Sadar police station.
According to the complaint, the complainant said that the event happened while her husband was away from home, when some people forced their way inside her home and offended her modesty. She also claimed that the sexual assault was a result of earlier animosity.
As a result, a case (12/2022) has been filed and additional research is being done in this area.
