Women in Jamshedpur wash Jharkhand CM’s feet

In Jharkhand, women were seen washing the Chief Minister’s feet on the occasion of Guru Mahotsav. The incident was reported from Jamshedpur, at an event held on Guru Mahotsav at the Brahma Lok Dham, women washed the feet of Chief Minister Raghubar Das on a plate full of flower petals. Das was the chief guest at the event.

The incident took place on the occasion of Guru Purnima which takes place in between the month of June and July.  Guru Purnima is marked on the full-moon day of the Hindu month Ashadha and is celebrated by the Hindus, Jains and the Buddhists to honour one’s gurus or teachers who guide us through our lives towards the path of enlightenment.

At the event, CM Raghubar Das promised to provide health insurance worth Rs 2 lakh to those who cannot afford it due to poverty. He also announced health insurance plan in the state. Das said that his government is starting up an entrepreneurship board for promoting women entrepreneurs in the state of Jharkhand. Both these schemes mainly focus on the rural areas in the state. At the same event, he disclosed that the government will launch a Mukhyamanti Udyamita Board. It is an entrepreneurship board that focuses on women skills that will help women entrepreneurs. This scheme plans to cover 32000 villages in Jharkhand. In these villages, women can be employed creating a supply chain for blankets used in various places like hospitals or hotels.
