Zomato delivery boy allegedly assaults women after she refused to take the order, video goes viral

A shocking video has surfaced on social media. In this video shared on Wednesday, March 10, Bengaluru’s beauty influencer Hitesha Chandranee has accused the Zomato delivery boy of physically assaulting her. In the video, Hitesha is constantly crying and bleeding from her nose.

Hitesha posted two videos, one in which blood is coming out of her nose and the second in which she has a bandage on her nose.

Zomato responded to her videos and said, “We can assure you this is not the experience our delivery universe stands for. Our local representative shall be in touch with you shortly to help you with the police investigation along with assistance on the medical care required. We can’t emphasize how sorry we are, rest assured we’ll take necessary actions to prevent such incidents from happening in future.”

According to Hitesha Chandranee, all this started with a food order. Since his Zomato order was delayed, she asked Zomato to cancel the order or make it complimentary.

Hitesha said that she had placed the order at 3.30 pm on March 9 but received the order at 4.30 pm. The order was not found on time, so she called customer support and asked them to either refund the money or cancel the order completely.

Hitesha said that when she told the delivery boy that the order had to be canceled or be given as complimentary and she was waiting for its confirmation, the delivery boy shouted at her and refused to take the order back.

Hitesha Chandranee said in the video that when she asked the delivery boy to wait, he became very aggressive and shouted at her loudly.

The Zomato delivery boy asked her if he was her “slave”. “I got scared and tried shutting my door. He pushed the door and he snatched the order from my table — he entered my house and he punched me on my face so that I don’t get back to him and he ran away,” she says in the video. She added that people in her complex are not very forthcoming when it comes to helping in such matters.

Chandranee also thanks Karnataka Police and Bengaluru Police for their professionalism and kindness in the video.
