Tadap

On the onset, Tadap looks like a conventional love story set in Mussoorie, between a man with limited means Ishaana (Ahan), who falls in love with a rich girl Ramisa (Tara Sutaria). She is forcefully married to a London businessman by her politician father (played by Kumud Mishra). But, there’s a lot more to the story than what meets the eye. Tadap is an incredible love story of how love becomes an obsession and turns into madness.

Sita Ramam

The love story takes you back to the 1960’s with a visually beautiful tale for love and loss. A long-lost letter must find its way to the recipient twenty years later. A rabble-rouser learns a lesson in humility and love along the way.  A period drama set in the 60s. Sita Ramam tells the story of Lieutenant Ram (Dulquer) falling in love with a stranger (Mrunal Thakur as Sita Mahalakshmi) after trading letters with her. Twenty years later, the love story of Rama and Sita has been through a chequered journey full of twists and turns. Afreen (Rashmika Mandanna) is in search of Sita and she figures out that she has to first trace Ram. The film is a moving tale about unconditional love.

2 States

Adapted from Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name, 2 States is one of the most beautiful romantic dramas set in contemporary India with a campus set up. A Punjabi munda (Arjun Kapoor) and Tamilian girl (Alia Bhatt) discover love on their college campus. However, their diverse cultures make its culmination a challenge. The film is relatable on many levels. Many can also identify with the inter-state love story. Performances by the cast and music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are top notch.

Dil Bechara

Dil Bechara is the Hindi film adaptation of John Green’s popular 2012 novel, The Fault in Our Stars. In fact, the book’s Hollywood adaptation with the same name in 2016 met with much critical acclaim. As romance blooms between two youngsters fighting cancer, Kizie (Sanjana Sanghi) and Manny (Sushant Singh Rajput), live their lives to the fullest, despite the inevitable tragedy looming over them. The film is a journey beyond love, where they refuse to give up on each other. It will surely make you teary eyed with all the love and emotions brewing.
