71st National Film Awards 2025: SRK Wins First National Award, Vikrant Massey & Rani Mukerji Win Big in Acting Categories

National Film Awards 2025: The winners of the 71st National Film Awards were finally announced today, August 1, in New Delhi. These awards are given every year to celebrate the best of Indian cinema. From acting and direction to technical work, this event honours all kinds of talent in the film industry.

Shah Rukh and Vikrant Win Best Actor Together

Shah Rukh Khan, who started acting in films back in 1992 with Deewana, finally got his first National Film Award this year. He won Best Actor for his role in Jawan. Fans had been waiting for years to see him win this honour.

Over the decades, SRK has become one of the most loved and famous actors in the world. In 2023, he gave three big blockbuster films Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. These three films were watched by more than 70 million people across India and made over ₹1300 crore in the country. Around the world, they earned nearly ₹2500 crore.

Jawan

Jawan came out in 2023 and was a Hindi action-thriller. It was directed by Atlee, who made his first Hindi movie with this one. The film was produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment. In the movie, Shah Rukh played two roles a father and his son. The story is about Azad, a jailer at a women’s prison who turns into a vigilante.

He teams up with the women inmates to fight against corruption in the country. Actress Nayanthara also acted in the film, making her Hindi film debut, while Vijay Sethupathi played a key role too.

12th Fail

Vikrant Massey also shared the Best Actor award this year for his performance in 12th Fail. He played the role of Manoj Kumar Sharma, a young man who comes from a poor background and fights all odds to become an IPS officer. His acting was praised by both critics and viewers. The film, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, was based on a real story and was full of strong emotions.

Rani Mukerji Wins Best Actress for Emotional Role

Rani Mukerji won the Best Actress award at this year’s National Film Awards for her powerful acting in Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway. In the film, she played the role of a mother who has to fight a foreign legal system to get her children back. Her performance was filled with deep emotion and strength, and it touched the hearts of many. Both fans and film critics praised her role.
