After Rahul Gandhi officially resigned from the Congress party, reports suggest that Senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Motilal Vora is set to be the interim head of the Congress party.
Vora, who is currently a Rajya Sabha member, would hold the post until a new chief is elected.
Rahul Gandhi, earlier in the day, resigned as the party president and asked the party’s working committee to meet immediately to decide on his successor.
“It is an honour for me to serve the Congress Party, whose values and ideals have served as the lifeblood of our beautiful nation. I owe the country and my organisation a debt of tremendous gratitude and love.” Gandhi tweeted.
