Zomato, a popular restaurant discovery and delivery service, is winning the internet with its savage reply to a customer who cancelled the food order as the company had sent a non-Hindu delivery boy.
The customer, whose Twitter handle goes by the name ‘Amit Shukla’ took to the social media platform on Wednesday and said that he cancelled an order placed at Zomato they allocated a non hindu rider for my food they said they can’t change rider and can’t refund on cancellation I said you can’t force me to take a delivery I don’t want don’t refund just cancel.

The man, who mentions that he is “Proud Hindu Associated” in his Twitter bio, also went on to say Zomato cannot force him to take the delivery. The customer went on to cancel the order after the company refused to change the rider.

Responding to the incident, Zomato said, “Food doesn’t have a religion. It is a religion.” And the company’s classy reply had invited mass support in favour of Zomato.
Netizens called out at the customer and asked him to “delete Twitter as well because the platform has many non-Hindu employees. A user said, “bro you’re the reason for all the problems in this world, i hope you know many non Hindu’s also work for twitter so pls delete your tweet.”

Deepinder Goyal, founder of Zomato company too, replied to the tweet saying, “We are proud of the idea of India – and the diversity of our esteemed customers and partners. We aren’t sorry to lose any business that comes in the way of our values.”
