National Award-winning actor Paresh Rawal invited a controversy by saying that instead of a stone pelter, eminent author Arundhati Roy should be tied to an army jeep. The veteran actor is also a Bharatiya Janata Party’s MP and Padma Shri.

His remark comes following a video going viral last month that showed a young man tied to the Army vehicle. J&K opposition leader Omar Abdullah had posted the video of the same incident requesting an ‘urgent inquiry and follow up’.
And now BJP’s Paresh Rawal, who became a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Ahmedabad East constituency during the 2014 Indian general election, sparked a new controversy with this violent remark. BJP in alliance with PDP is currently ruling Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
Noted author Arundhati Roy became a household name after her novel The God of Small Things won the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 1997. Ever since, she has been vocal political activist. She frequently highlights human rights issues within the nation and beyond. Her new book, The Ministry of Utmost Happiness, is likely to hit stands and bookstores next month.
Rawal’s tweet invited criticism from Twitterati who alleged that an MP was inciting mob violence.

Nope @SirPareshRawal . This level of trolling doesn't suit your stature. Regardless of your emotions attached with the issue. IMHO. https://t.co/VCGygIzV8Q

Am deeply moved by your empathy that brings every character to life in movies. But I'm shocked by your ability to be so violent with words!

One may disagree with Arundhati Roy but such comments are deplorable. More so, as they come from Member of Parliament. https://t.co/KnYkdiGHCq
