Nissan Magnite has been launched in India at a price of ₹4.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This introductory price is valid for customers who book the SUV by 31 December 2020.

In case you forgot, the Magnite is a sub-compact SUV and will rival the likes of Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, etc. Nissan had showcased Magnite prototype in July this year while the production model was revealed in October.

The Japanese carmaker has specially designed Magnite for the Indian market and is relying on it for a revival here. To take on its rivals, the Magnite gets aggressive styling and is equipped with several modern features. The SUV is also available with the option of a turbocharged petrol engine in combination with an automatic gearbox.

Nissan Magnite: Design

Nissan Magnite uses a modern design tenet which sets it apart from any other Nissan car launched in India. The SUV gets a large octagonal grille with chrome surrounds and reminds us of new Datsun Redi-Go. The grille is flanked by sleek LED headlamps while the bumper houses L-shaped LED DRLs and LED fog lamps. The front bumper itself is chiselled and gets a faux skid plate on the chin. Other notable design elements on the Magnite include flared wheel arches, side cladding, 16-inch alloy wheels, integrated roof rails, roof spoiler, split tail lights, and silver insert on the rear bumper. Nissan Magnite isn’t the biggest SUV in the segment but 336-litres of boot space and 205 mm of ground clearance do make it a very practical SUV.

Nissan Magnite: Interior and features

Nissan Magnite gets an all-black interior which is offset by silver surrounds for the aircon vents and silver inserts on the door pads. The centre stage inside the SUV is taken by an eight-inch touchscreen which supports first-in-segment wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Magnite also has a seven-inch TFT display for the instrument console. Other features on the SUV include rear AC vents, cruise control, push-button stop/start, wireless smartphone charger, ambient lighting, puddle lamp, tyre pressure monitoring system, flat-bottom steering, JBL sound system, and Eco driving mode. The latest Nissan SUV, however, misses out on electric sunroof provision.

Nissan Magnite: Safety features

The Magnite gets dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, speed alert system, reverse parking sensors, etc. as standard and the top-end trim gets VDC (vehicle dynamics control), hill start assist, traction control, and reverse parking camera with 360-degree view and bird’s eye view.
