A day after the Punjab Police’s intelligence wing headquarters here was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade, there were reports that another blast took place in Mohali on Tuesday. However, the Punjab Police has rejected the reports and claims.

SSP Vivek Soni refuted the reports carried by some media channels that a second explosion in as many days had taken place in Mohali.

On Monday night, the Punjab Police intelligence wing headquarters was targeted with an RPG by an unidentified person(s). No one was injured in yesterday’s incident.

“There was nobody in the room when this incident occurred. The impact was on the wall,” the DGP said. “In the wake of yesterday’s incident, we held a meeting here in which officers of the intelligence (wing) and the district police chief were present,” Bhawra added.
The DGP refused to say whether Monday’s incident was a terror attack, adding this will be established after a probe.
