EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Kalyani was born on April 5, 1993, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to Malayali parents Priyadarshan and Lissy. She is the eldest of two children, her younger sibling being Sidharth. She attended primary school in Lady Andal, Chennai, and then went on to study in Singapore, where she also performed with theatre groups.
After completing her education, she earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture design from New York City’s Parsons School of Design. She also interned at the Williamstown Theatre Festival during this time. She attended an acting workshop at the Adishakti Theatre in Pondicherry upon her return to India.
