The city of Hyderabad is rolling out the red carpet as it prepares to host the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant on May 31, bringing with it a burst of global glamour and cultural pride. The Telangana Information & Public Relations Department has announced an elaborate itinerary aimed at showcasing the best of the state’s heritage and hospitality to the international audience.
More than 120 delegates from across the globe are expected to converge in Hyderabad, including reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska and India’s representative Nandini Gupta. The final event will take place at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, which is being transformed into a world-class venue for the grand finale.
Ahead of the main event, the state government has curated a cultural immersion experience for the contestants. On May 12, they will embark on a heritage walk through the historic lanes of Charminar and Laad Bazaar, followed by a visit to the regal Chowmahalla Palace on May 13. A special highlight will be their appearance at an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal on May 21, offering them a firsthand taste of India’s cricket fervour.
To make the international guests feel welcome, Shamshabad Airport will feature special lounges, and the city is being adorned with custom arches and local slogans such as “Telangana Jaroor Aana” (You Must Visit Telangana). These efforts not only aim to celebrate the spirit of the pageant but also position Telangana as a leading cultural and tourist destination on the global map.
The government’s coordination between departments—from tourism to transport—is being praised for ensuring smooth logistics and top-tier hospitality for participants, organizers, and global media crews.
