IPO Rush in August: July has been a packed month for India’s primary market. More than a dozen companies are trying to raise over ₹33,500 crore through IPOs, and the list includes the Cube Highway InvIT along with upcoming issues such as Manipal Health, Juniper Green Energy and MV Electrosystems. Some of these offers were still waiting to open in the last part of the month. Recent market reports also show that the upcoming week itself is busy, with Manipal Health Enterprises, Juniper Green Energy and MV Electrosystems among the mainboard names lined up for launch.

Manipal Health has drawn a lot of attention because it is one of the biggest offerings in the current window. Reuters reported that the company is targeting a valuation of up to $8 billion, with bids for anchor investors scheduled before the public issue opens. The IPO includes both fresh shares and an offer for sale, and the company plans to use the money to strengthen its balance sheet and expand capacity.

August could be even Bigger

August is also shaping up to be a very active month. Market reports say more than 12 companies are expected to raise over ₹25,000 crore next month, and the list includes Zepto, Truhome Finance and Shiprocket. A few of these issues will be made up of both new share sales and offer-for-sale portions, which means the money will go partly to the company and partly to existing shareholders.

Zepto is expected to be one of the biggest names in the pipeline, with plans to raise around ₹8,010 crore through fresh issue and total proceeds that could go up to ₹10,000-11,000 crore. Truhome Finance is looking at a ₹3,000 crore issue, while Shiprocket is expected to raise more than ₹2,350 crore. OYO parent PRISM may also raise about ₹6,650 crore if the issue goes ahead.

Investors are Watching Carefully

The mood in the market remains upbeat even though broader sentiment is still mixed because of global worries. Experts say good recent IPO listings and stronger-than-expected Q1FY27 earnings have helped rebuild confidence.

One market observer said, “Domestic factors continue to outweigh external uncertainties,” and added that many upcoming issuers now look like stronger, more mature businesses with clearer plans for expansion, capacity building, debt reduction and technology spending.

The SME market has also been busy, with nearly 18 SME IPOs in July looking to raise around ₹300-350 crore. But experts are warning investors not to rush into every issue. They say people are now checking company quality, management strength, earnings visibility and valuations much more closely than before. In simple terms, the market is still open for new listings, but investors are becoming far more selective.
