Some of the important corridors included in this programme are also listed here with an aim to strengthen the connectivity between the various cities/towns/economic centres of Bihar.

Major projects highlighted in reports include:

  • Gorakhpur-Kishanganj-Siliguri corridor
  • Raxaul-Haldia corridor
  • Buxar-Bhagalpur corridor
  • Ram Janaki Path, including the Mashrakh-Chakia-Bhittha Mor section
  • Chhapra-Bettiah corridor
  • Patna Northern Ring Road
  • Naubatpur-Arwal-Aurangabad-Harihar Ganj section
  • Muzaffarpur-Barauni corridor
  • Chhapra-Rewaghat-Muzaffarpur corridor

Also covered under this programme will be the widening and strengthening works to National Highway (NH) section like that of NH-333A between Barbigha and the Jharkhand side, Darbhanga-Jaynagar highway and Bariyarpur-Bishanpur and Sitamarhi-Chiraut stretch besides rail over bridges at some selected places on NH-120 and NH-727.

Though these approvals have been given, which marks an important milestone in the state’s highway development programme for 2026-27. But just getting clearance of such a large project doesn’t necessarily imply work on ground as different projects might require additional clearances, land acquisition, tendering etc based on their status.
