AI Video Case Involving Vijay: The Madras High Court has granted conditional bail to two men from Uttar Pradesh who were arrested for making fake AI videos of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay. The videos reportedly showed Vijay speaking in Hindi and claiming that he would become India’s next Prime Minister. The clips were later shared on social media.
The accused have been identified as Rajilal and Shiv Chandra. Tamil Nadu Police arrested both men in Madhya Pradesh during the investigation. Police alleged that the videos were made to harm Vijay’s public image and spread false information. After their arrest, both men were brought to Chennai and sent to judicial custody.

The two accused later filed bail petitions before the Madras High Court. Justice N Ramesh heard their case.
Why Did Tamil Nadu Police Arrest the Two Men?
According to the police, Rajilal and Shiv Chandra used artificial intelligence (AI) to make videos showing Chief Minister Vijay speaking in Hindi. The clips were made to look like real videos of the Chief Minister even though the statements were not genuine.
The videos were then shared on different social media platforms. Police believed that the content could mislead viewers and create a wrong picture of what the Chief Minister had said.
During the court hearing, the prosecution opposed their release. It claimed that the two men had created and shared the videos to get more likes and attention on social media. The prosecution also argued that such videos could damage the reputation of a public figure.
But the lawyers representing the accused told the court that the videos had already been deleted from social media. They said the clips were no longer available online.
Madras High Court Grants Conditional Bail
After listening to both sides, Justice N Ramesh decided to grant bail to Rajilal and Shiv Chandra with certain conditions.

Separate Case Involving Facebook Accounts
In another case involving fake AI videos of Chief Minister Vijay, a man from Rajasthan named J. Shyabu Khan was also granted conditional bail by the Madras High Court.
He was accused of creating two Facebook accounts named ‘All India Help Vijay Thalapathi’ and ‘All India Help’. According to the prosecution, he used AI-generated videos of Vijay to attract people seeking help and allegedly collected ₹16,000 from them as registration fees.
