Did you happen to send any speedpost to your relatives or friends abroad of late? If yes, were you demanded aadhaar details or aadhaar copy? According to postal department clerks, there is a new rule to send a speedpost to foreign countries. Now you need to submit a copy of aadhaar with the speedpost to make sure that your post reaches to the concerning person. This rule is said to have been enforced for the last 20 days. Although, the Supreme Court is making older forced linkages redundant, the rule is emphatically imposed.
So the latest is, one can’t send a speedpost letter or documents to a foreign country without a copy of #aadhaar and no other identification will be accepted. Not even PAN which is what should matter if undocumented money is a concern. Why so much #aadhaar zabardasti?

The irony is that matter is still pending with the Supreme Court, but the government looks quite in a hurry to enforce it on the citizens. No other identity proof is accepted instead of aadhaar, not even pan card.

This new rule is not introduced uniformly, as there are other postal offices who do not demand for any aadhaar copy or details. People wonder what actually is going on in the country and why aadhaar is being enforced so hard on people.
