Aamir Khan has finally confirmed that he is indeed doing the remake of Oscar-winning Tom Hank starrer Forrest Gump when he addressed the media on his birthday. While cutting the birthday cake with his wife Kiran Rao, Aamir confirmed that his production house has indeed bought the rights and they will soon kickstart the movie. Shedding further light on it, Aamir revealed that he will play a Sardaar in the Hindi remake. Aamir will also go through a massive transformation for his character. The actor confirmed that he will lose 20 kgs weight for the role, along with six months of rigorous preparations for the film.

 

Earlier, Aamir went through a massive physical transformation for his films like Dangal, Ghajini, Dhoom 3 and all of them surprised us. Aamir, further revealed that the movie is titled ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ and is expected to release early next year. This remake just got added to our must-watch list! ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ will be directed by Secret Superstar’s director Advait Chandan.

 

Forrest Gump was based on a 1986 novel by the same name, written by Winston Groom. Tom Hanks played the lead character alongside Robert Wright and Gary Sinise. The movie received several accolades and was the biggest hit of that year. Forrest Gump swept the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects and Best Film Editing. Meanwhile, Hanks was applauded for his performance with a Best Actor Oscar award. The movie also performed well at the Golden Globes, People’s Choice Awards, and Young Artist Awards.
