‘Rubaru Roshni’ actor-turned-producer Aamir Khan’s latest venture has been telecasted in seven languages on national television this Republic Day. The tagline of documentary film Rubaru Roshni reads, “Three unbelievable true stories.”

The documentary film Rubaru Roshni is helmed by Svati Chakravarthy, showcases impactful tales of forgiveness. In the documentary, three families who lost their loved ones to the hands of another human, share their agony. Despite getting the culprit punished and seeking revenge the families took an unimaginable step of forgiving them.

The stories are real-life incidents of three different families from different decades.

The Orphan and the Convict:

The first part is titled ‘The Orphan and the Convict’ and talks about the broad daylight murder of politician Rajiv Maken.

The Farmer and the Nun

The second one is titled ‘The Farmer and the Nun’ is the story of Sister Rani Maria, who was killed brutally in a bus in Madhya Pradesh.

The Terror and The Mom

The third part is titled ‘The Terror and The Mom’ is the story of Kia Scherr, who lost her husband and daughter in the 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai.

In the documentary film, they talk about what made them take the big decision, and how it helped them get closure. ‘Rubaru Roshni,’ means being face-to-face with light.

The title of the documentary ‘Rubaru Roshni’, coincidentally happens to be taken from the Aamir Khan starrer Rang De Basanti track Roobaroo. The movie was also released on Republic Day only, 13 years ago.

The documentary film produced by actor Aamir Khan released on January 26 across Star Networks. It will also be available on Hotstar and have a Netflix release in the coming days.
