Shiv Mohaa the director who is known for his debut movie Zero, leads Aasai and he has been very candid about the inspiration behind the movie’s title and plot development. He says, the term “Aasai” meaning “desire” points to the fact that even the most insignificant wishes and urges can lead people to tough and unexpected situations. Talking about the film, director Shiv Mohaa said, “’Aasai’ is a romantic thriller; we completed shooting the entire movie in Chennai in 25 days. There are two songs in the film composed by Revaa. The reason behind titling the film ‘Aasai’ is that the couple get caught in a complex web of problems due to their small desires (Aasai).”
