Twitter is always set with the renaming memes of Yogi Adityanath as now he is popularly known for changing names but this time he is the one whose name got misspelled and Twitter did not left the chance to make memes on it.

The Uttar Pradesh CM was addressed as ‘Aditya Yoginath’ rather than Yogi Adityanath by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The major gaffe occurred during the ground-breaking ceremony for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

During his address in Ayodhya, PM Modi said “Present on stage, the energetic, renowned, popular Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Aditya Yoginath ji”, as the camera cut to the UP CM’s face to capture a reaction from him.

The short video quickly went viral on social media becoming one of the top trends on Twitter and triggering a meme fest.

Allahabad was renamed to Prayagraj, Faizabad district was changed to Ayodhya, and the iconic Mughal Sarai train station was renamed after BJP ideologue Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay in an exercise seen as an effort to trim the legacy of the Mughals.

While some had welcomed the moves, contending that the new names reflect the desires of most of the state’s residents and are efforts at reclaiming overwritten identities, others criticised them as blatant majoritarianism and overwriting established historical nomenclature.
