On Thursday, the film directed by Raghava Lawrence, ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ went for its censor certificate and post the screening, the makers had a discussion with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Keeping in mind and respecting the sentiments of its viewers, the producers of the film Shabinaa Khan, Tusshar Kapoor and Akshay Kumar have now decided to change the title of their film.
The much-anticipated trailer of Laxmmi Bomb was dropped online and managed to impress the audiences with its humour.
It was reported earlier that a legal notice was sent to the makers of the film on behalf of Shri Rajput Karni Sena. According to the notice, the film’s title was considered to be disrespectful to Goddess Laxmi, thereby hurting Hindu community’s sentiments. The notice also demanded a change in the film’s title and said that the current one sends out a wrong message to the society.
A few days back, Akshay Kumar had shared a quirky video interview with Maniesh Paul in which he talked about his role in the film and said that it was the most mentally intensive characters that he has played till now. He also said that he was simply imitating the director in the film.
The film will be available for streaming on Disney+Hotstar from November 9. Earlier, the makers had planned a theatrical release, but they have opted for the digital release route in wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
