Hours after a Tech Mahindra employee was being asked to quit by human resource executive and the story went viral, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to apologize for the same.

“I want to add my personal apology. Our core value is to preserve the dignity of the individual & we’ll ensure this does not happen in future,” said Mahindra.

Tech Mahindra’s Chief Executive Officer CP Gurnani also tweeted, “I deeply regret the way the HR rep & employee discussion was done. We have taken the right steps to ensure it doesn’t repeat in the future.”

Besides, a statement from Tech Mahindra Vice-chairman Vineet Nayyar was also issued on the matter. “We have become aware of the incident involving a conversation between an employee and a company HR representative. We deeply regret the manner in which the discussion took place and have taken necessary corrective steps to ensure that this does not happen again in future.”

Moneycontrol reported on Thursday that in a nearly 7-minute long audio clip, the company’s HR executive was heard asking an employee to put in his papers by 10 am the next day or his services will be terminated. Though, the authenticity of the tape could not be independently verified, the tweets from the chairman and CEO substantiate that the recording involved Tech Mahindra employees.
