In a bid to celebrate the Independence eve smoothly, National capital has been put on high alert following intelligence officials and Delhi Police reports claiming that a suspected terrorist posing as an Indian Air Force officer was roaming around in Connaught Place.

A manhunt has been launched to trace the man who was spotted near the Rajiv Chowk Metro Station. Because of his uniform, he has been considered as a suspect because the way he wore the uniform, normally which the force personnel would never do.

As Independence Day is round the corner, security personnel are already on their toes with inputs of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists having entered the capital.

The security forces have been deployed near Red Fort and Police have also examined all the pipelines and electric meters of the houses located around the Red Fort.

Around 1000 CCTV cameras have been installed around the Red Fort and on the routes leading to it.

Not only in the national capital, security has been beefed up across the country, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, amid reports of the presence of terrorists in the state. Delhi Police has also issued an alert, asking citizens to be safe ahead of the Independence Day.
