Ahmedabad: This café will serve FREE chai to all singles on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s week is full of offers, discounts, gifts vouchers, complimentary drinks etc., the restaurants and café owners indulge in decorating their outlets and offering discounts for the couples. but the most left out people around Valentine’s Day are the singles, but not anymore because a cafe has taken a unique initiative to make singles feel special.

A café in Ahmedabad has found out a unique way of celebrating Valentine’s Day. An MBA candidate who has a tea outlet named “MBA Chai Wala”. Owner of the outlet, Prafull Billore has created an event on Facebook that says free chai will be served to all the singles between 7 pm to 10 pm.

The page description read “Why should couples have all the fun? Singles need pampering too. Hence we’ll be serving free chai to singles on Valentine’s Day this year.”

Apart from the unique valentine’s day idea of serving free tea, the story of the MBA  Chai Wala is also unique in its own way. Prafull, an MBA dropout opened this café after struggling to get into a top business school in India. The café is located in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad.

Prafull’s journey in opening this café was not as easy as it seems, he faced a lot of criticism from society and his relatives. But after battling all that he opened a cafe in 2017 with an investment of only Rs 8,000. His boundless determination and hard work increased the sales and he also started selling snacks.

Speaking to a portal, 22-year-old Prafull said that “On Valentine’s Day, every cafe and restaurant is busy creating ideas and offers to woo couples, but nobody cares for the singles. “We need to understand that there are people who are single by choice and have all the reason to celebrate the day. For the same, I thought to offer a ‘Free Chai’, to all the single men and women.”

Prafull hopes that his genuine idea will work and a lot of singles will turn up on Valentine’s Day to enjoy the chai and for the event as well.

The café’s name, MBA Chai Wala, is inspired by the story of the MBA candidate. The café along with tea serves 35 variety of chai and snack dishes.
