All India Students Association, AISA has demanded to cancel the CBSE Compartment Exams 2020, scheduled to commence in the month of September. Students association has written a letter to the Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and education ministers of all states appealing them not to conduct the compartment exams amid pandemic.

The student union, which has been constantly opposing the holding of any exam amid the pandemic, wrote letters on behalf of students who failed in a subject with a margin of one to seven marks.

The letter sent to the Chief Ministers states, “Over 2.2 lakh students including students of your state found themselves in the Compartment category by 1-7 marks. The said students demand the cancellation of the Compartment exam for the following reasons.”

In a letter, Students mentioned that due to the rise of COVID19 cases, lack of resources, mental health issues, they want the cancellation of the compartment exams.

AISA tweeted the letter and other documents on its official twitter handle.

The tweet reads, “We have sent letters to the CM and Edu Min of all the states highlighting the plight of the students. We have made a formal request for an appointment as well. We hope to hear soon from the respective offices.”

The students association also asked the Board to consider the grace marks or marks based on the Internal assessment and deem them as ‘Passed’ in their Board exam. This has been demanded so that students can move forward with their higher education and avoid the risk of losing a year.

The online application process for CBSE Compartment Exams 2020 for Class 10, 12 has already started from August 12, 2020.
