The situation turns tense in Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad after a local leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party was killed on Tuesday morning. Two buses were set on fire and protestors damaged a clinic in Allahabad. The police were trying to control the aggressive crowd.

The 46-year-old BSP leader, Rajesh Yadav was shot at around 2:30 AM outside a hostel at the Allahabad University. Yadav was hit in the stomach and breathed his last while on the way to a private hospital, NDTV reported.

Immediately after the news spread, a mob of about 50 people attacked the clinic. They also burnt two buses near the city’s India Press roundabout.  Besides, journalists were also allegedly attacked by the protesters. Yadav had fought the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls in March from neighboring Bhadohi.
