The Allahabad High Court on Thursday will announce its judgement in the Aarushi Talwar murder case and decide the fate of the late girl’s parents and doctor couple, Rajesh and Nupur Talwar. They are currently serving life imprisonment in Ghaziabad’s Dasna Jail after they were convicted for the gruesome murder of Aarushi and domestic help, Hemraj in November 2013 by a special Central Bureau of Investigation court in Ghaziabad.
The Talwars had challenged the court’s order by filing a plea in the Allahabad High Court. A division bench of the high court comprising justices BK Narayana and AK Mishra had reserved its judgement on September 7 on the appeal filed by the Talwars, fixing October 12 as the date for the verdict.
The Uttar Pradesh police had first arrested Rajesh Talwar on 23 May 2008 after which he was lodged at Dasna jail and let off on July 11, 2008. Later on April 30, 2012, his wife Nupur surrendered before a Ghaziabad court before trial and was also sent to Dasna jail.
