Amit Shah in Tripura; vows to grant Rs 25,923 crores

Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah who is on a two-day visit to Tripura, addressed a rally in Fatikroy on Sunday. In his address he slammed the state government for having done nothing for poor, labours. “It has done nothing apart from corruption,” Shah said.

Talking about the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist), he told the people that it has not done anything in the development front. Concerned about the safety of women in the state, Shah said, “Females here in this state goes through a lot of torture. In the past 10 months, 919 women of the state have faced eve teasing.” He also added that development without respecting women is impossible to achieve.

Notably, elections in Tripura is due next year. However, BJP president has already started his campaign saying first the UPA government gave Tripura Rs 7,000 crore, but the Modi government has decided to give 25,923 crores for the development of the state.

In his two-day visit to Tripura, Shah was accompanied by BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav, Northeast secretary Ajay Jamwal, Tripura’s party in-charge Sunil Deodhar and State Health Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste.

Also, earlier on Sunday, Amit Shah addressed a meeting with state office bearers, morcha presidents, and district presidents.
