Why Even Older Pixel Phones Are Getting Android 17?

Google extended software support for several models. The company announced extended update policies that allow Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro to receive Android 17, even though they launched with Android 12 back in 2021. The change provides existing Pixel users extended device operation time and improved security protection.
