Comedian Kapil Sharma to get another Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Comedian-turned-actor Kapil Sharma took to Twitter on Friday to vent out his anger and frustration after reportedly being forced to pay a Rs 5 lakh bribe to a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officer for the construction of his new office.

Kapil Sharma, who has around 6.2 million followers, wrote, “I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi.”

He again tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and tweeted, “Yeh hain aapke achhe din? @narendramodi.”

His tweet sent the BMC on backfoot as they asked the comedian to name the officer. BMC’s vigilance chief engineer Manohar Pawar stated that the agency will take serious measures against corruption.

Even Maharshtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis got into action and wrote: “Kapilbhai pls provide all info. Have directed BMC to take strictest action. We will not spare the culprit. @KapilSharmaK9 @narendramodi.”

BJP’s North-East Mumbai MP Kirit Somaiya also regretted the unpleasant episode and called for strict measures to solve the corruption issue in the civic body. He tweeted: “It pains to here experience of #KapilSharma to Slum Dwellers of Bribe @ Mumbai MunicipalCorporation V shall Free BMC from Rule of ScamMafias.”

Meanwhile, BJP MLA Ram Kadam asked Kapil why he had not filed a complaint. He said, “I have come here to file a complaint but I would like to ask Kapil Sharma that why he didn’t lodge a complaint when he was facing harassment.”

Ram Kadam also tweeted:
