A federal appeals court has upheld a decision, blocking US President Donald Trump’s revised travel ban once again.
A three-judge panel of the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals deals the administration another defeat, as the Supreme Court has considered a separate case on the issue.
The judges said that the president has violated the US immigration law by discriminating against people on grounds of their nationality. They also added that he failed to show that their entry into the country would hurt American interests.
However, the judges didn’t rule on whether the travel ban violated the Constitution’s ban on the government favouring or disfavoring any religion officially.
On May 25th, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Virginia had also ruled against the travel ban. The administration has appealed that ruling to the Supreme Court.
