Sisters who went viral on social media for their jaw-dropping ‘Balcony Concert’ during the lockdown usually play Ukulele and sing-along songs in several Indian languages.
Both born in Assam and trained in music. Antara is a Hindustani classical scholar while Ankita has trained under the guidance of music director Chandan Roy Chowdhury are not new to the world of social media content. A couple of years ago, they were known as the ‘clap and cup sisters’
Antara shot to fame after reaching the final rounds and becoming one of the three best female finalists in the reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs-2009 which aired on the popular Zee TV. Antara now has a lot of songs to her name. “Ja Ud Ja Re”, a modern song released by Antara in August 2017, Assam’s music video ‘Aakaxok Subo Khojo’ to name a few. She does her performances in various live shows, both in India and internationally. Recently she has been on the Color’s singing programme ‘Jammin’ that is being telecasted after Bigg Boss 14.
