April’s Social Security: Millions of recipients will receive their April Supplemental Security Income payments, which can reach $943 for individual filers, within twenty-five days.
The Social Security Administration will distribute the next installment on Monday, April 1, to individuals with a limited income and a severe, debilitating disability.
Each filer is eligible for a maximum amount contingent on the manner in which they requested the payment. Beneficiaries may petition under one of three categories: individual, joint, or as an essential person.
The SSA states that individuals who file as individuals are eligible to receive a maximum of $943 per month, couples who file as one can receive up to $1,415 per month, and essential persons can receive up to $472 per month. This represents a 3.2% increase compared to 2023, as a result of inflation.
Essential personnel are those who reside with SSI recipients in order to render them dependent on them for vital care.

To qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI), a person must be partially blind or have a “physical or mental condition” that significantly limits their daily activities for 12 months or could kill them.
The payouts are added to Social Security income for individuals who qualify, but not all receive the maximum. Filers can use the SSA’s calculator for a tailored estimate.
