Arshdeep Singh Backlash: Arshdeep Singh is back in the spotlight after a new video from the IPL 2026 season started moving fast on social media. The clip was reportedly posted on his Snapchat story and was filmed inside the Punjab Kings team bus while the squad was travelling in Lucknow. In the video, Priyansh Arya is seen sitting at the back with Harpreet Brar. Arshdeep is not shown clearly, but his voice is heard in the background.
In the clip, Arshdeep is heard saying, “What a cutie, man! Show me your smile. Show me your teeth,” and then laughing. NDTV reported that Priyansh was looking at his phone and that several users felt he seemed uncomfortable during the moment. Social media users reacted in mixed ways. Some felt it was just friendly teasing between teammates. Others said the clip felt awkward and went too far.
Why Fans Reacted so Strongly?
The video spread quickly because many fans thought Priyansh’s body language looked tense. He was seen avoiding the camera and keeping his attention on his phone call. That made the clip look less like light fun and more like unwanted teasing to some viewers. Some social media posts even called Arshdeep a bully, while others said it was only dressing-room style banter.
This new row also arrived while Arshdeep was already facing heat online for another viral clip involving Mumbai Indians batter Tilak Varma. In that earlier video, he was heard saying “Oye andhere,” which sparked criticism and talk of insensitive behaviour. A TOI report also said Arshdeep later replied sharply to a fan who asked Punjab Kings to remove “Punjab” from the team name, saying, “What have you done for Punjab? That you are feeling embarrassed, Singh saab? People who still ask family for chips and cold drinks money are now advising whether to use the name or not?”

Pressure is also Rising on PBKS
The timing has not been easy for Punjab Kings. The team has lost six matches in a row, which has badly hurt its playoff hopes. Reuters reported that after losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab still had only one league game left and needed a win against Lucknow Super Giants to stay alive in the race.
