AT&T Settlement Deadline: The deadline to file a claim for the $177 million AT&T class action settlement is now Thursday, December 18. This new date gives customers more time to ask for payments after two major data breaches hit the company last year. The settlement comes from a lawsuit that said AT&T failed to keep customer information safe during two different leaks.
The first breach was reported on March 30, 2024, when customer details like addresses, Social Security numbers, and passcodes showed up on the dark web. The second breach happened on July 12, 2024, when attackers got access to call and text records.

AT&T continues to say it did nothing wrong, but the company agreed to the settlement to avoid a long court battle and to make sure customers can receive money if they believe they were affected.
People who want to file can do it online at telecomdatasettlement.com or send their forms by mail to AT&T Data Incident Settlement, c/o Kroll Settlement Administration LLC, P.O. Box 5324, New York, NY 10150-5324. Mail claims must be postmarked by December 18 or they will not count.
Who can get Money?
There are two different settlement classes for customers. One class is for the March 30 breach and the other is for the July 12 breach. Some people might fall into both groups. Reports say the breaches affected more than 7 million customers in 2024 and over 65 million customers from 2019 to 2024. The payment amounts can change depending on which class a person is part of and what type of loss they claim.
People hit by the March 30 breach can claim up to $5,000 if they have proof of losses or if they choose the Tier 1 or Tier 2 cash choices. Tier 1 is for people whose Social Security numbers leaked, and it gives five times more than Tier 2. Tier 2 is for people whose other private details were exposed.
For the July 12 breach, customers can ask for up to $2,500 if they have documents that show losses. They can also take a Tier 3 cash option, which gives a share of whatever money is left after the settlement handles its costs.

Someone included in both settlement groups could get as much as $7,500. Kroll Settlement Administration has already sent email notices to people who were affected, and these emails come from “[email protected].” The emails explain how to submit a claim and who is eligible. People who are not sure if they are included can call 833-890-4930 to receive help. Every claim must be sent online or postmarked by December 18, or the settlement will not review it.
Final Approval Date
Late filings will almost never be accepted, so customers who want money need to act fast. The settlement is expected to get its final approval on Monday, January 15, 2026. Payments may take longer if anyone files appeals or if there are delays when the administrators check the claims.
