August Anthony Alsina Jr. is an American vocalist whose talents have distinguished him in his field. He was born on September 3, 1992, in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a Virgo. His ancestry is African-American. Alsina attended middle school in his hometown and was influenced to begin singing by Lauryn Hill’s performance in “Sister Act 2.” In 2007, he began uploading videos to YouTube.
