Ayappa devotee death in Sabarimala: Son contradicts BJP statement

Sabarimala: In a major setback to the Bhartiya Janata Party in the case related to the death of an Ayappa devotee, deceased son claimed that his father did not die of police action in Sabarimala. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the BJP have alleged the police action during the protest leading to his death.

BJP and RSS have called for a protest demonstration in Pathanamthitta districts and alleged the Kerala police for attacking the ‘peaceful protesters’. Ayappa devotee Sivasadan who died due to injuries he sustained in the attack, his son told police that his father had talked to his mother on October 19.

However, the police action proceedings had ended on October 17. Sivasadan’s son told police that his father went to visit the temple on October 18 and the next day he made a call to his mother after finishing the visit.

The son’s claim is a major setback to the BJP, who were alleging police action for his death.

BJP state president Sridharan Pillai had alleged that Sivasadan was beaten to death by the state police and demanded Pinarayi Vijayan resignation.

Kerala police had also made it clear that those who are involved in spreading fake news will face the consequences. Strict action will be taken against such elements.
