Thamma advance booking: The makers of hit films like Stree, Munjya, Bhediya, and Stree 2 are back with another unique story called Thamma. This time the new movie will bring vampires into the popular horror-comedy world. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. It is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the same filmmaker who made Abhay Verma and Sharvari’s surprise hit Munjya.
Strong Start Before the Release
Because of the huge success of earlier films, Thamma is already getting a lot of attention before it even releases. The movie will hit theatres on October 21, right during Diwali. As per Sacnilk, the film has “till now collected Rs 5.03 crore but as they say devil lies in the detail- of the total collection about Rs 3.4 crore has come from block bookings.” This means that most of the early earnings are from bulk ticket purchases made by distributors or theatre chains.

When we talk about real ticket sales, the report says “Rs 1.63 crore has from it selling more than 57,000 tickets with maximum tickets being sold in Maharashtra.” This shows that fans are excited about the film. With two more days left before release, trade experts expect the film to open between Rs 15 to Rs 20 crore, which is a solid start for a movie that brings new characters to the horror-comedy world.
Horror-Comedy Universe
Thamma will not only introduce vampires but will also set up the story for the next film in this universe, called Shakti Shalini. Reports say that Aneet Padda, who became famous from Saiyaara, will play the lead role in that movie. She is said to replace Kiara Advani who recently welcomed her daughter with actor Sidharth Malhotra.

People will also see Varun Dhawan back as Bhediya in a special cameo and Aparshakti Khurrana will return to connect Thamma with the rest of the horror-comedy series. There were also reports that Samantha Ruth Prabhu was first chosen for the lead role but due to her health issues, she stepped away and Rashmika took her place.
