The Banks across the country observe certain holidays but they are not uniform across the country. Banks in most cities across the country will be functioning all days of the month except for 2nd, 4th Saturday and all Sundays.
However, there are some bank holidays that are state-specific during which the banks will remain shut in a particular area.
The major holiday for banks in the month of July is Bakri Eid, also called Eid-Ul-Fitr on July 31. Some of the states will be celebrating regional holidays like- Haryana and Punjab on the event of Haryali Teej will have an off on July 23. Jammu and Kashmir will have two extra holidays as on July 5 and July 13 for Guru Hargobind Ji’s Birthday and Martyr’s Day respectively.
Even as the bank branches will remain closed, customers can still complete transactions through online modes. Both mobile and internet banking will remain functional as usual. However, some ATMs might not disburse cash. So, if you want to make a major cash payment on the mentioned dates, please withdraw money in advance.
