The festival of Basant Panchami or Vasant Panchami is celebrated every year on the fifth day of the month of Magha. The spring season begins from the day of Basant Panchami. On this day, people worship Goddess Saraswati and wear yellow clothes.
This time the Basant Panchami Festival will be celebrated on Tuesday, 16th February. It is said that the goddess of knowledge, Maa Saraswati, appeared on the Panchami date of the Shukla Paksha from Lord Brahmaji’s mouth. That’s why goddess Saraswati is worshipped on the day of Basant Panchami.
