Srinivas Prasad, a BJP leader known as Kithaganahalli Vasu was hacked to death on Tuesday morning by unidentified assailants in Bengaluru rural district. The 45-year-old was a member of Bommasandra Municipal council.
The incident took place after Srinivas Prasad received a call around 5 am in the morning. He left the home in his car at around 5.30 am. At truck terminus on Hosur road, the suspects pulled him out of his car and attacked him with deadly weapons.
Prasad succumbed to injuries immediately at around 5.45 am. The assailants also stoned his vehicle.
Soon after the incident took place, the Highway patrol personnel alerted police. Police then informed Prasad’s family members.
The political rivalry is suspected behind the attack. Prasad’s wife Shailaja is a Zilla Panchayath member and Prasad was a candidate for a BJP ticket from Anekal assembly constituency.
