He says on Twitter, “As I enter a new year of my life tomorrow, I am indebted for all the love and support I’ve received from all of you at every stage of my life. Whatever I have achieved today is a result of the blessings and faith that the people of my state have showered on me and that is all I seek from all of you.”
A mysterious letter has also been received which questions the style of the birthday function. It can be disgruntled BJP workers from Karnataka who were denied cabinet berths.
They spoke about Yediyurappa being 77 and that he should retire from electoral politics and instead mentor the young lot present in the party.
Some also find a different angle to his grand birthday celebrations, they say that Yediyurappa and his loyalists are trying to send a message to the central leadership that he is strong. BJP has retired several members who crossed the age of 75 except for Yediyurappa.
