Bengaluru: Ramesh Jarkiholi rubbishes claim of leaving Congress

Belgavi: Amidst the speculation of leaving the Congress party, Municipal Administration Minister, Ramesh Jarkiholi rubbishes the claim of leaving the party and blames certain party leaders behind this conspiracy.

The moment caught up the heat recently hen he walked out of the cabinet meeting and told media that certain “self-proclaimed influential leaders” of the party are trying to spread lies about his continuation with Congress.

He said, “I am not leaving the party but there are some leaders who are spreading these rumors and creating a false propaganda against me to put me in the bad light.”

On Friday he added a new twist in the turf war and said that he won’t be cowed down by certain party colleagues who are involved in “assassinating his character.”

Winter session of the legislature is scheduled to commence in Belgavi on December 10, and cabinet expansion is likely.

The minister however admitted about the differences among party leaders. He further added that after the intervention of Congress President Rahul Gandhi and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, all the issues were sorted out.

Meanwhile, three BJP MLAs met with him at his residence and it triggered the speculation of him leaving the Congress.

Political commentators are seeing this as an old tactic of Jarkiholis to convey their message to the top brass of the party.
