Karnataka Police announced that they have solved the murder of a 71-year-old man in Bengaluru and have arrested the man’s son and two contract killers in connection with the crime on Tuesday.

Investigations have revealed that Manikantha (30), the son of the victim, hired the contract killers by paying them Rs 1 crore.

Two additional defendants were identified as T. Adarsha (26) and Shivakumar (24).

The victim, Narayanaswamy, was murdered in his apartment complex’s parking lot on February 13.

The police stated that they also suspect the involvement of other individuals and will soon arrest them.

The victim, according to the police, favoured Manikantha’s second wife and registered his property in her name.

Despondent, he then determined to murder his father.

Manikantha was incarcerated in 2013 for allegedly murdering his first wife. He was incarcerated a second time for attempting to murder his second wife.

During his second stint in prison, he met the contract killers and promised them Rs 1 crore and an apartment each for killing his father.

The police report that Manikantha also paid Rs 1 lakh in advance.

In Bengaluru, Narayanaswamy owned a 28-unit apartment complex as well as acres of land.

He chose to register one of the apartments, 1,7 acres of land, and Rs 15 lakhs in cash in Manikantha’s second wife’s name.

The police in Marathahalli are investigating the incident.
