Smashing the stereotypically submissive image of Indian women, a young lady in Hamirpur district’s Maudaha city abducted her ex-lover from his own wedding, at gunpoint.
This incident of role-reversal took place on Tuesday surprising the whole town. Notably, no trace of the abducted man was found. Following the rumours, the man and his abductress had a relationship before things started to get a little unsettling. After which she decided to take the drastic step.
According to reports, the abducted man– Ashok Yadav, worked as a compounder at a doctor’s clinic. His abductress was also a worker of the same clinic, which is how they got involved with each other. Soon the couple was deeply in love. But just like every other picture-perfect love story, trouble was soon knocking at their doorstep; Ashok’s family arranged his marriage with a girl living in Hamirpur district’s Bhawanipur village.
After Ashok got engaged, he stopped answering his girlfriend’s phone calls and messages. Late on Monday, while Ashok’s wedding rituals were ongoing, a young woman arrived at the venue with a few other people. As dramatic as it could get, the woman armed with a revolver confronted her lover. She also demanded to know why Ashok was marrying another woman when he was in love with her.
After this, she grabbed Ashok by his collar, forced him into her car which was waiting outside and drove off.
Although, the police was called in to investigate. The DCP of Maudaha police circle said he believes the kidnapping was staged and the couple were hand in glove.
